ARTIST'S
BIO
MAGGIE
HAASE
Education
Trained and educated in public health nutrition and as a registered dietitian
at UC Berkeley, my most recent "day job" was as a public health
nutritionist and food activist, promoting food
justice, sustainable food practices and community
food security. Although I received a degree in technical illustration
and worked for a period illustrating aircraft parts, my fine art skills
are largely self-taught. I also have a passion for growing food and flowers,
and am trained as a Master Gardener through UC Cooperative Extension Los
Angeles.
Media
I currently work primarily in acrylics, although I have also worked in
oil, watercolor, and pencil. Although not shown on this site, my body
of work includes large and small scale murals for children's rooms.
